This is an anti-war manifesto under the disguise of an art book, created in collaboration with contemporary artists. The authors sort out those cultural clichés in Russian society that contributed to the outbreak of the War in Ukraine and are trying to find a way out of the deepest humanitarian tragedy that began in February 2022.
We wanted to give a chance to speak out to those Russian artists who were against the war (any public anti-war speech in Russia is 15 years in prison). The entire Putin regime rests on the myth that Europe hates Russia and nothing good awaits a person outside. Therefore, he must either be afraid or kill. We decided to create our own weapon — an art book about the imminent death of the Putin myth.
In its study, BL8D relies on two important cultural phenomena: 1. Fairytales - a universal repository of information about the deepest mental and cultural attitudes that affect the worldview. 2. Hesychasm - a spiritual practice that came from Byzantium, that more than once saved the lives and minds of Orthodox believers in times of Repressions and global upheaval
Vol.1 has become "viral", it is given to friends and acquaintances to read. You can find one copy of the magazine in the library of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

SCULPTURE-BOOK CASE

- PRICE ON REQUEST
We dedicate this sculpture-book case to the resilience and courage of Ukraine, Her incredibly strong people who fight for freedom despite the cynical bombing of civilians, cold and hunger.
The sculpture is released in collaboration with Aleksandr Kirilenko — a 3D sculptor from Estonia, on the anniversary, a whole one year, of the start of the War in Ukraine. A year of vile and impudent lies of the Russian government. A year of death, pain, heinous war crimes and genocide of the Ukrainian people. A year of endless grief, break ups with close and loved ones.
We know that when the War is over, this block of concrete in which the first issue of BL8D is literally walled up, will become only our memory of the first 12 months of the War. In the meantime, let it remind that there is a war going on in the very center of Europe, and all those who started it and support it will face inevitable punishment.
The special case/sculpture will be released in a limited edition and is available for pre-order.
The object is made of durable recycled plastic and can be used to store and safely transport the magazine.
50% of the proceeds from the sale will go to the State system of humanitarian aid, Ukraine.
21,8 x 28,2 x 2,5 cm Recycled powdered plastic 3D printing 2023, Florence, Italy
